Application Sharing on a Virtual Private Network

ALifeCycle systems was a tiny venture-backed startup that was developing application sharing technology for call centers. The LifeCycle product was designed for use over a dialup connection and included desktop sharing, remote control, and voice.

Kay designed the end user installation software, which involved registration and subscription. She also created the GUI standards to choreograph the application sharing.

She did extensive user research to learn about call center staff, where she made many site visits to observe and interview workers at all levels. She used the insights gained to design the product interface so that it integrated with Siebel call center software as well as with the call center agent environment.
