Notes-based banking application for tellers
La Caixa Bank in Barcelona Spain was replacing a character-based green screen application
with PC-based software, which was to be integrated with Lotus Notes and SmartSuite.
The La Caixa team selected Kay to work with their systems analysts to provide usability input for a new bank teller
system. She collaborated with the team on-site as well as remotely in creating a new information architecture and user interface design
and information architecture.
As part of her engagement, she trained the IBM consulting team
(in Spanish) in user centered design techniques including contextual
inquiry, user profiling, and usability testing. She also assisted
the IBM team in preparing a style guide, which would be used for
all subsequent GUI development on this project.
